National Junior Honor Society of Seaford Christian Academy
What is National Honor Society?
The National Honor Society (NHS) was established by the National Association of Secondary School Principals in 1921 and is today the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. National Honor Society is much more than just an academic honor roll. It is considered to be the highest award that can be given to a student by a local school. It recognizes those students who have demonstrated excellence in the four areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character.
Today, over one million students participate in activities of the NHS and its middle level counterpart, the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). NHS chapters are found in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Canada.
To become eligible for membership in the National Honor Society at Seaford Christian Academy, students must be of good character and must be able to demonstrate leadership and service to both their school and their community through their involvement in a number of activities and through their behavior in the classroom, in the hallways, and in the community. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but also challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and through service to the community.

Scholarship
Scholarship is a commitment to learning. A student is willing to spend hours in reading and study beacuse he/she knows the lasting benefits of a
curious and cultivated mind. Learning is a lamp which illuminates the future and the many paths lying before us. We hope that the pursuit of
knowledge will be for you a never-ending journey
Character
Character is the positive force in each peson which makes an individual distinguished from all others. It is a daily striving of self-discipline so that
we may hope to prove by example our respect for character.
Leadership
Leadership is a willingness to yield one's personal interests to the interests of others. Not every person is gifted with the capacity to lead responsibly.
Use your talents wisely.
Service
Service is a willingness to help, and an unselfish devotion to make life better, happier, and more fulfilling as we serve together for the common good. It
is a simple giving and sharing of one's abilities, whenever there is need. The gift of ourselves is our commitment to a better tomorrow.
