1.  What time does the SCA school day begin?

The first bell rings at 8:15 a.m.  This is when the doors are unlocked and the children are able to begin going to their classrooms.  The children should be in their classroom by 8:20.  If your child is late to class, they will need to stop at the office for a late slip.  We do record the number of tardies on our report cards, so please keep that in mind.

2.   Can we bring our children any earlier than 8:15?

Yes.  We have before school care, which begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 8:00 a.m. for $2 per child per day.   After 8:00 a.m., there is no charge.  You may drop off your child any time between 8:00-8:15 a.m.  We have teachers on duty to watch the kids, line them up by grade, and make sure they get to their classrooms on time.  Students which are not accompanied by an adult must wait on the playground (or lunch room if the weather is bad) and not at the front doors due to congestion, traffic, and the fact that they need to be supervised by a teacher.  The front doors will be opened once all students have entered from the back doors.

3.  Where do I bring my child(ren) for the before care program?

We hold the before care program in the lunch room.  You will need to bring your child to the direct  entrance of the lunch room.  This door is the 1st door you come to when you turn off of Bradford Street and on to Holly Street (the door on the corner of the church).  This will be the only unlocked entrance to the building at that time of the morning.

4.   What is the cost for the before care program?

There is a flat fee of $2.00 for morning care.  Whether you sign in at 7:30 or not until 7:50, the fee is still $2.00.

5.   What time does your school day end?

For Pre-K 3:  Pick up time is at 11:20 a.m. , Pre-K 4: Pick up time is at 11:30 a.m.  For your convenience, the children are brought to the front lobby by their teacher or teacher’s aid.

For full day Pre K3 and Pre K4:  Pick up time is at 3:00. 

For 1st-4th grades:  Pick up time is at 3:00 p.m. 

For 5th-12th grades:  Pick up time is at 3:10 p.m. 

6.   What time is Extended Care?

Extended Care is available from dismissal till 5:00 p.m.  The charge is $4 per hour per student.
